Realme X coming to India in the next few months!

Realme CEO Madhav Sheth announced through a tweet that Realme X is going to launch in India in the second half of this year. What is this phone and how can it compete to the likes of Redmi? Let's find out!

Realme X

Realme X was launched in China earlier this month. Talking about the performance, the Realme X is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC with a clock speed of 2.3 GHz, the same chipset used in Realme 3 pro. It runs ColorOS 6 on top of Android 9 Pie.

Talking about the display, the phone sports a 6.53 inch  Full HD+ AMOLED display with dimensions of 1080×2340 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The phone doesn't have any notch and the notch camera is replaced by a pop-up selfie camera. The build quality is good with the presence of Corning gorilla glass 5.

Now, coming to the camera, the Realme X sports a dual camera setup of 48 MP primary camera with f/1.7 aperture + 5 MP depth camera with f/2.4 aperture. For the front camera, there is a motorized pop-up selfie module of 16 MP with f/2.0 aperture. The cameras contain all the features seen in Realme 3 pro like chroma boost, night Scape and many more.

And, as far as the battery is concerned, the phone has a battery capacity of 3765 mAH and is powered by the mighty VOOC 3.0's 20W fast charging with USB type C.

The Realme X is available in 3 variants:

  • 4 GB RAM / 64 GB storage

    • (¥1499/Rs. 15,150)
  • 6 GB RAM / 128 GB storage

    • (¥1599/Rs. 16,150)
  • 8 GB RAM / 128 GB storage

    • (¥1799/Rs. 18,150)

The CEO announced that the Realme X will come with a starting price tag of 18000. A bit confused? That is because the Realme X India version is different from that of China's and we can expect a load of better things and specs in the Indian version. So, relax!

RealmeOS: The One more thing

The CEO also announced that Realme is working on its own operating system, which is known as RealmeOS as of now, though that's not it's the official name. By the way, we expect it to be available in a year for all the Realme devices globally. The RealmeOS is expected to be close to stock Android. Hence, it is expected to give excellent customisations like OnePlus's OxygenOS. Only time will say about it.
