Oppo Reno and Reno 10x zoom edition - The Zoom rockstar?

Oppo has launched its 2 devices, the Reno and Reno 10x zoom edition in India. Can the device give competition to the likes of OnePlus and other flagships? Let's find out!

The Oppo Reno 10x zoom edition is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 with a clock speed of 2.8 GHz. It runs ColorOS 6 on top of Android 9 Pie. It is available in two colours - ocean green and jet black.

Coming to the design and display, the phone has a 6.6 inch AMOLED display with a screen-to-body aspect ratio of 93.1%. It has a notch less display with a little chin. The phone is void of a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone is covered by Corning gorilla glass 5 with a Matt like coating to give you the perfect premium feel and grip at the same time. The camera module is under the back, which means the camera doesn't protrude and the phone lies flat when kept down. This also means the phone is a little thick and slightly heavy at 215 grams.

As far as the camera is concerned, the phone features a triple camera setup at the back, i.e.48 MP primary camera + 8 MP ultra-wide camera + 13 MP telephoto lens. This 13 MP lens is what gives the phone its name, which is the 10x hybrid lossless zoom. It can also go up to 60x zoom, the first for any smartphone in the market. The front camera, for the first time, brings something called a shark fin module. Instead of a pop-up camera, the 16 MP front camera is raised to 11°, which, according to the company, is the best position for clicking selfies.

As for the battery, it features a 4065 mAH battery with VOOC 3.0 and USB type C.

This is the upper midrange version of the Reno series. The device runs Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 with a clock speed of 2.2 GHz. The screen size is a little less than its big brother at 6.4 in AMOLED display. It also runs ColorOS 6 on top of Android 9 Pie and comes in the same 2 colours.

As far as the camera is concerned, the Oppo Reno has a 48 MP primary camera + 5 MP ultra-wide camera, without the 13 MP telephoto lens. It sports the same 16 MP shark fin selfie camera.

The battery capacity is a little less than the former, at 3765 mAH but is supported with VOOC 3.0 and USB type C. The rest of the features are the same as Oppo Reno 10x zoom edition.
