In the world of Walkmans where you had to carry big boxes on your waist, Apple had launched the first iPod, which rocked the music industry. Now today, in the world of smartphones, the old boy is back to make a mark. Apple on 28th may unveil the 7th generation of iPod touch. But why would anyone buy something like this if you can multitask on your phone? Well, Apple's no fool and let's see why.
About iPod Touch
As quoted by the VP - Product marketing, “We’re making the most affordable iOS device even better with a performance that is twice as fast as before, Group FaceTime and augmented reality starting at just $199. The ultra-thin and lightweight design of iPod touch have always made it ideal for enjoying games, music and so much more wherever you go.”
The iPod touch is not just about just music. But being it's a primary task, let's look into it. The iPod touch is integrated with iTunes and Apple music, and anyone with the subscription has access to 50 million+ songs.
Along with music, the iPod touch focuses on gaming too. It has introduced a game subscription service called Apple arcade. It packs more than 100 new and exclusive ad-free games. They are also available offline for users. The device is powered by A10 fusion chip, the same one as in iPhone 7. The company also claims that the battery can withstand 40 hours of music playback. The iPod Touch sports an 8 MP rear camera and 1.2 MP front camera.

The design is the same as before, a 4-inch screen with large bezels and a no fingerprint physical button. There is no biometric protection for the touch. It also retains the 3.5mm headphone jack, which is skipped from the iPhone. Saying about the design, the VP added, "The ultra-thin and lightweight design of iPod touch have always made it ideal for enjoying games, music and so much more wherever you go."
There are new features coming this time to the touch. Firstly, the most awaited immersive augmented reality (AR) will be implemented. The Group FaceTime is also included this time. At this specs, it packs being a pretty good device.

The iPod touch is available in 6 colours - Red, Space Grey, White, Gold, Pink and Blue.

- 256 GB (Price Rs.38,900)
