Micromax, the company, once poised to become no 1 Indian smartphone industry at its high time lost all its charm by the march of Chinese OEM's especially "Xiaomi" into the Indian market. The company recently revealed its intention to bounce back and snatch the pole position from Xiaomi.

The company was very quiet for a few months but it has finally broken its silence. It will be launching for the first time a notched display smartphone which it has been leasing from the past couple of days on its Twitter account. The event is scheduled to be held on December 18 and event invites have already been sent out.

What to expect?

Given the company's history and its past device launches, one thing is pretty clear, Micromax will be targeting the mid-range smartphone segment which is currently filled with lots of devices from Asus, Xiaomi and Nokia. Although the specifications are all under wraps, Micromax did showcase an official product image on its Twitter account. You can clearly see the dual camera setup which is very reminiscent of Honor series devices. The "Dual AI Camera" tag is also clearly visible which means that the company is all in with the latest trends in the smartphone industry.

Don't expect a flagship device as the company mostly launches devices in the budget segment and should be the same case for this device also, and likely it would be sub ₹20K device.
