Redmi 5 Plus

Xioami has launched the "Redmi 5 Plus" which is going to be the successor to the Redmi Note 4. It is going to be the First Opening of the Company into the New Trend of 18:9 Screen Ratio. This makes the design look more appealing and eye-catchy, but don't forget about the other things * cough cough MIUI*. Do note that the phone hasn't welcomed USB Type-C and stuck to Micro-USB.

UnBoxing:

Opening up the box, you have the Phone itself; including some documentation guides. It is followed by the Power Break and a USB cable for data transfer. The nice thing is the transparent case out of the box which is being included. Booting up the phone, MIUI comes in.

It's good to see Xiaomi using the Modern Trend of 18:9 Displays in their Budget range phones, thereby creating more hype. The 18:9 setup new heights to what phone can do (Better Multi-tasking, Picture in Picture Mode etc). The Phone is made using the same materials used in the Redmi 4x i.e Aluminium. This brings in a bit of slipperiness, that's covered up by the included case.

Key Specifications:

For, Specifications Xiaomi had played it, all the same, it did with Redmi Note 4. It boasts the same Snapdragon 625 inside including a 4000mAh Battery. It weighs at 180grams. A person coming from the Redmi Note 4 won't see a considerable difference in specifications other than the design.

Impressions:

The phone looks good and feels good on hand. The design makes it stand-out from the Budget phones. The Buttons are kind of Tactile with a decent level of feedback. These are just First Impressions. So, we can't say much about the Camera and Battery Performance since it needs to be tested thoroughly. But we can say that the image is cropped when you shoot in whole new aspect ratio 18:9 which should be noted. So far the Experiences on MIUI holds good. The added optimizations with new updates (MIUI users know well), we need to see how it holds up with time. "MIUI can make or mar a Device". According to us, the phone should be a hit, considering the welcome changes in design and "Inexpensive budget-friendly price tag". Would it be successful like the Redmi Note 4?
