Lenovo Z5 Pro SD855 - World's First Phone with 12GB RAM!

Lenovo, the company which became irrelevant in the mobile market for the past several months, and now it looks like the company is working to alter this with the new mobiles launched in China. It has announced three devices namely Lenovo Z5 Pro SD855 and Z5s.

Lenovo Z5 Pro SD855

It is the same Z5 Pro with SD710 processor that the company launched in November except this time it is equipped with the latest and greatest Snapdragon 855 and a whopping 12GB of RAM.

The manufacturer also revealed that its SD855 powered device is leading the Antutu benchmark which is dominated by the devices equipped with Apple's A12 Bionic processor, Kirin 980 and SD845 Devices.

Thanks to the whopping 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB internal storage the device promises a monstrous performance.

The device features a 24+16 MP (Sony IMX576+IMX519) dual camera set up at the back. The front dual camera setup comprising 16+8MP is hidden in the slider.

It sports a 6.39-inch AMOLED with FHD+ resolution, and it is running on a ZUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie and packs a 3,350mAh battery with fast charging support.

Lenovo Z5 Pro Snapdragon 855 Edition Price and Release Date

The Lenovo Z5 Pro Snapdragon 855 edition variants have been listed below along with their pricing:

• 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage – 2,698 Yuan (~$391)
• 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage – 2,998 Yuan (~$435)
• 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage – 3998 Yuan (~$579)
• 8 GB RAM + 512 GB storage – 4398 Yuan (~$638)

The pre-sales of the Lenovo Z5 Pro Snapdragon 855 edition will begin at 10 AM on Jan. 1, 2019 with official sales scheduled to start on Jan. 24.

Lenovo Z5s

Lenovo announced this device with triple cameras and waterdrop notch, it is powered by SD 710.

It sports a 6.3-inch full HD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and 19.5:9 aspect ratio display.

The device comes in 4GB+64GB, 6GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB variants and is fueled by 3,300mAh battery that supports 15W fast charging via USB-C port.

The triple rear camera setup comprises of 16MP (f/1.8 aperture) + autofocus enabled 8MP (f/2.4 aperture) + fixed focus 5MP (f/2.4 aperture) sensors with features like dual-LED flash, 2x optical zoom, PDAF and 4K video shooting. For, selfies it includes a 16MP sensor with pixel binning tech.

Surprisingly the device comes with P2i splash-resistant coating.

Lenovo Z5s Pricing and Availability

Here are the different variants and pricing of the Lenovo Z5s:

• 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage – 1,398 Yuan (~$202)
• 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage – 1,598 Yuan (~$232)
• 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage – 1,898 Yuan (~$275)

It is available in Stary Night Black and two gradient colours namely Love Orange and Titanium Blue and there is also a special version called Lenovo Z5s Zhu Yilong Custom Edition that includes 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. It is a limited-edition version and only 4,160 units available for purchase. Its pre-orders will begin tomorrow in China. The handset carries a price tag of 1,998 Yuan (~$290)
