Android Pie update for Redmi Devices coming in Q1 of 2019

Xiaomi, the Chinese Smartphone Giant has yet added 3 Redmi Devices and 1 My Series device into its Android Pie Update list. These devices include the Redmi Note 5, Redmi 6 Pro, Mi 6X and Redmi S2. All of these devices were announced earlier this year and came out of the box with Android Oreo.

This comes into the light as an MIUI Beta Program recruitment post was shared on its Chinese forums recently. MIUI Devs are looking for active members who can be a part of the testing community. Users get to test the latest version of Android, the Android 9.0 Pie before its released to the public. There's no exact release date, but the above-mentioned devices should get it before the end of Q1 of this year.

Android Pie update for Redmi Note 5 Pro?

Redmi Note 5 is the global version of the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The same device which was launched in India earlier this year. On the other hand, Redmi 6 Pro is the latest low budget offering from the OEM. There's no mention of Redmi Note 5 Pro, its Indian counterpart. The company only provides one major Android Update, and that has already been given to the Redmi Note 5 Pro users with Android 8.1 Oreo update.
