Redmi launched its first device after separating from its parent company Xiaomi. It unveiled Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro in an event held in China skipping the Redmi Note 6 Pro probably due to minimal changes from Redmi Note 5 AI.

Redmi devices are targetted at the budget segment and generally comes with a plastic body, but this time the company debuted with a premium looking glass body.

The device is fitted with 2.5D Corning Gorilla 5 glass panels with strengthened four corners with "microcrack” edge polishing process which the company says the glass build is four times stronger than competing glass.

It features a 6.3inch 19.5:9 aspect ratio and full HD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels display and is capable of producing 450-nits brightness, 1,500:1 contrast ratio.

It is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 660AIE processor from last year which became common in current mid tiers from different companies. It has a dedicated microSD card slot for expanding its storage and runs on MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie.

It is equipped with a 4000mAh battery that can be charged via USB-C port, and it is the first redmi device to support Quick Charge 4.0, but you need to buy a compatible adapter separately as the included charger don't support it.

Coming to the Camera department, Redmi did magic here by equipped Redmi Note 7 with f/1.8 aperture 48MP + 5MP AI dual camera setup. It used the Samsung ISOCELL GM1 48MP Ultra Clear sensor as the primary sensor. The sensor can shoot amazing photos in low-light conditions by combing four pixels into one large pixel.

On the front side, a 13MP cam sits inside the waterdrop notch the also serves the purpose of face unlock and like most other Redmi devices it features an IR Remote control sensor and 3.5mm audio jack on the top and fingerprint sensor at the back.
