HMD Global posts event invite - new devices expected
HMD Global has finally broken its silence on the numerous phone launches which many users have been eagerly waiting for. The company posted the event invite on Twitter. The event is scheduled to take place on December 5 in Dubai where the smartphone maker is expected to announce three different devices.
Taking a closer look at the event invite image, we can see three different devices, two with notch designs & one without it. We are expecting that the event invite is for Nokia 9, Nokia 8.1 Plus & Nokia 2. Given Nokia’s history, these three phones will cater to three different categories, High-End Flagship, Mid-Range & Low-End budget respectively. Nokia 9
Nokia 9 from HMD Global is set to compete with OnePlus 6T, Mi Mix 3 & other devices from the flagship category. It will feature top of the line hardware and will be a successor to Nokia 8 launched last year. Nokia 9 will be the first device to come out with five cameras set up on the back & will have an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. Like previous smartphones from Nokia, these new devices are rumoured to be a part of Android One Program by Google.

Nokia 8.1 from HMD Global is the same as the Nokia X7 launched recently in China with just a change in the name. This device is set to compete with other mid-range devices in the same price bracket.

The Nokia 2.1 Plus will be an upgrade to the last year’s Nokia 2. It will have upgraded internals and some other minor tweaks. The specifications for the device are very scarce but its suppose to be an improved 2.1 launched earlier this year.
